Overview

SpendCast is a hackathon-built financial AI assistant that turns personal transaction data into useful insights while keeping sensitive information protected end to end.

What was built

  • A SvelteKit frontend with dashboard views for spending trends, categories, and query history.
  • A Hono-based backend and orchestration layer for secure query handling and model calls.
  • Multimodal UX with speech-to-text and text-to-speech for hands-free finance queries.
  • Privacy controls that remove or mask PII before analysis outputs are returned.
  • Team coordination and architecture ownership during a tight 48-hour delivery window.

Impact
